Our Philosophy

We believe that social, emotional and physical growth happens when children feel safe, valued, and connected to both their community and the natural world.

Twig + Owl was born from a deep desire to give back to the community — and to reimagine childcare as a place where children, educators, and families connect and grow together. Based on the North Shore, our programs support families through strong partnerships built on deep community engagement, consistent quality, and an unwavering commitment to nurturing relationships.

Our Core Principles

These six core principles guide everything we do—from how we build our team, to how we design our spaces, to why families choose and trust us.

Qualified Educators

Accredited educators who meet licensing standards and bring passion, diverse skills and lived experiences that enrich every child’s journey.

Inquiry Based

Child-centred programs that support children's discovery of self, others, and the world around them, fostering holistic growth and well-being.

Relationships First

Our work is grounded in human connection, nurtured through relationships, and carried out with the warmth of intentional care.

Growth Mindset

We listen, adapt, and grow — turning challenges into meaningful opportunities to better serve and connect with families.

“The Twig + Owl team at Montroyal is absolutely amazing! My son loves being there as it’s full of planned and engaging activities that promote creativity and fun for the kids. We are so blessed to have this in our community and even more with the ladies that treat us all like family.”

Twig + Owl was born from a calling — a deep sense that this is the work I was meant to do.

It’s my way of leaving a meaningful legacy on the North Shore, rooted in community, connection, and care. Cultivating belonging and empowering others has always been my passion — it’s the foundation on which I was raised, and the same values that guided me in raising my own children.

I’ve learned that wonderful things happen when people come together with shared purpose and heart; collaboration has always been at the core of my vision. Twig + Owl is a reflection of that love — a place where people, ideas, and community grow side by side to create something truly beautiful.”
