Located in the heart of West Vancouver, Twig + Owl’s partnership with the West Vancouver School District brings to life a new, state-of-the-art Early Childhood Education Centre designed as a hub for community-connected early learning. Surrounded by the library, recreation centre, and seawall, it unites childcare, family supports, and community resources in a walkable, integrated setting. Purpose-built spaces, including a dedicated atelier, support creativity, exploration, and expression inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. This centre represents a model for how childcare can be meaningfully embedded within the public education system, strengthening connections between children, families, and community.

In a calm, sensory-rich environment, our youngest children are viewed as capable, curious, and full of potential. Through responsive relationships, open-ended exploration, and thoughtfully prepared spaces, early learning unfolds at each child’s own pace. Educators observe and listen closely, responding to cues and emerging interests as children begin to make sense of the world around them. Through connection, movement, and outdoor experiences, children develop a strong sense of trust, belonging, and well-being while building early communication, coordination, and confidence through meaningful daily moments.

These experiences support developing independence, social-emotional awareness, language, and physical confidence, fostering a strong sense of identity, belonging, and connection to others.
